Halton West

“West Halton in the parish of Long Preston, 7 miles southeast of Settle, is a village and township, on the west side of Ribblesdale, containing 171 souls and 2,220 acres, all the property of John Yorke, Esq.” William White’s History, Gazetteer and Directory of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Vol 2, 1838.
